Fun Things to Do When You Are Bored at Home - Try Branding Yourself

How often do you find yourself sitting at home, board out of your mind? There is nothing on TV to watch, your dog is lounging in the sun, and the refrigerator is empty.

This boredom is a choice. Instead of sitting around and sucking your thumb, you should try doing something that not only is fun, but also something that can make you money - like branding yourself. What does branding yourself mean? It means advertising yourself and increasing different people's awareness of you. Is your inbox constantly empty? Is your Facebook friends list short? Is your social life struggling? If so, branding yourself can help change your fortunes.

Well if you now find yourself interested, the next logical step is learning HOW to brand yourself. I believe there are five things, things you can do right now, that will immediately increase your online identity.

The first step is to create a Facebook profile. This will not only allow you to get in touch with old friends, co workers, and classmates, but it will immediately increase your online presence. While you're at it, you should also create a twitter account. With a twitter account not only can you keep track of your old friends, but they can keep track of you. With Twitter, you can instantly send out messages to all of your friends. Facebook and Twitter will provide you with the means to effectively and instantly communicate. With this power, you are significantly less likely to find yourself bored.

The second step is to create a blog. In effect a blog is a website, but it is your website, and it will represent you on the internet. In other words, your blog is your home, but online. Blogs present you with a plethora of opportunities to increase your online exposure. On your blog site you can get noticed, and you can express your thoughts and ideas. You can also advertise your own business or product on your blog. When you are making money, you will find yourself being active, and certainly not bored. Trust Me.

Step three, open a YouTube account and upload videos. Not only are YouTube accounts free, but because you are able to connect them to your Facebook and Twitter accounts, you will be able to market yourself 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

The fourth step is to find affiliate programs which allow you to market their products on your blog, your Facebook page, and your Twitter account. Since all three of these social mediums are linked together, you are able to maximize the exposure of your thoughts, ideas, products, all the while, increasing your social Rolodex.

The fifth and final step is to get focused and to establish a routine. Set goals for the amount of friends you want to have, or the amount of people you want to contact, and work towards these goals. Your increased presence on line will help build a large network of contacts, which in the future can prove to be extremely valuable.

Again, BOREDOM is a choice. Next time you find yourself doing nothing, instead of searching for mildly entertaining distractions, try branding yourself online, and in doing so, make new friends and some money.
